Album

Dome is the self-titled debut studio album by English post-punk band Dome, released in 1980 by record label Dome. Trouser Press wrote: Dome abandons conventional song form for a hodgepodge of treated instruments and voices, with lurching mechanical noises infrequently keeping a vague beat melodies fragment under studio manipulation, calling it eerie. An invisible and mysterious force field descends upon a small actual town of Chester's Mill, Maine, USA, trapping residents inside, cut off from the rest of civilization. The trapped townspeople must discover the secrets and purpose of the dome or sphere and its origins, while coming to learn more than they ever knew about each other and animals too. Creator: Brian K. Dome 1 & 2 were not great, but not nearly this bad. So many of the sounds on 3 and 4 are imitative of records that The Residents had been making. Other than cobbing sounds from that band, much of the rest of what's here is STREEEEETCHED out as if to quickly make a record out of as few ideas as possible. There are records 8 Time particularly where that minimalistic, inside the sound concept works for me. Arrived swiftly and well packaged. Dome 3 & 4 is my best personal find of the last year. I have no idea how anyone could have enjoyed Dome 1 & 2 and not enjoyed 3 & & 2 are not exactly pop either All 4 albums are absolutely fantastic, if not GENIUS .
