It's just their sharp, yet sensitive approach that makes The Lost Riots emerge honest and true. Even the more ambitious numbers like The Red the White the Black the Blue, a downpour of acoustic guitars, pianos, and percussion, and the old-timey jangle George Washington don't come off as pretentious or overly earnest. It's likely that Hope of the States are firm in questioning a bullying United States, but the songs are open-ended enough so that they could be about anything to anyone. The Lost Riots is the debut album by Chichester-based rock band Hope of the States, released on 7 June 2004 in the United Kingdom, on 1 September 2004 in Japan, and on 5 October 2004 in the United States. Released to widespread critical acclaim in 2004, it was a bittersweet moment for the band following the suicide of guitarist James Lawrence in January 2004. The album was recorded at studios in Ireland, and thought to be recorded partly in Russia, before the finishing touches were put together at. The debut album of Hope of the States, released 2004, after the suicide of guitarist James Lawrence. Mixes post-rock influences with the melodies and structures of more straightforward rock while riding between utter despair and optimistic hope, grand epics and downstated ballads. Hope of the States waste no time getting to the point on The Lost Riots, their musical ID4: The opening instrumental The Black Amnesias begins with a solitary, maudlin, plucked guitar line and escalates slowly, pausing dramatically here and there until it explodes into an immense epic rock-opera piece, complete with wailing violins and high-diving crescendos. It is exquisitely horrible. The Lost Riots, like the aforementioned music video, plays on terrifying, portentous imagery throughout. Ruins and riots and fires and chaos are littered and strewn across the songs. Hope of the States lost one of their best friends during the recording of The Lost Riots. He's even a touch like Richard Ashcroft, a working-class poet in progress much like Ashcroft was during his latter years with the Verve. подробнee - Надеюсь, что из Штатов-потерянный беспорядки новый компакт-диск.
