Video

This album sucked for some reason, no idea why even really, gave it a couple of listens and have to say the album takes 1-3 sides to begin and side 4 is purely great.

Sound like a totally different band than on their first album and style is also different. First album was kinda Shoegazing, Noise, Post something, that while sometimes sounded generic, was actually very pleasant and original album and i ended up really liking it (It was released digitally 2014 and on physical format this winter/spring 2017) and was anxious what the band had cooked up since i met a couple of the guys on occasion and they were nice people and first album was just great.

This second album for most part sounds like a bad joke. It's Like The Mothers of Invention - Cruising With the Ruben & The Jets except the band and its leader(s) are not aware its a Satire-Pastiche and they just dig in to it! Replace the teen age affection of sleazy jellyhair Doo-Wop of Zappa/Mothers with this bands strange adulthood affection for Prog rock and it is just... terrible. Like a bad remake of an originally bad film.

The Guys from the band I met were great, first album was great and autumn fresh but this second album is a really regressive step for the band and it and it completely surprised me after the fresh and great first album (With very great artwork that Parallels the difference of quality in music between the albums weirdly, first album has slightly disturbing, magical and ghastly photos and artwork while this second album look... well I have to use a same word in a review twice which should not be done for the sake of any glory in quasi-short snippets of music themed texts of "constructive feedback" or art of the field of literature anyhow for that matter. The cover art is BANAL. There is just no ways to describe it better, it is boring, banal, everyday cover art with no surprises just like the music.) and their great gig in June 2017 Sideways festival Helsinki. "Progressive" rock is one of the worst names you can nowadays label a band and for some unknown reason this band did it! Not outsiders but band themselves places themselves on that section in the fruit market...At least that is what I hear in the music. Maybe this will grow o, me in 10 years? Highly doubt it!

So Maybe i didn't listen to it enough, maybe they meant the music was meant to be played live, maybe they peaked briefly making the first album and blasting all best ideas on one album but i really just hope this otherwise great band had a misstep or something and the new album would blow peoples minds like the first one did to me!

Avant Garde of the mid 1960's is the banal and boring and safe in 2017. Cant wait for the new album they gotta correct his misstep somehow and i am sure they can (PS the lyrics are better than the music).
